Cafe le Moderne
Well, the establishment may be "modern", but try finding anyone under the age of 80 among the patrons!

Published!
This photograph appeared in my other blog back in February 2009. I was contacted by an Australian publisher who wanted to use it in a school text book. We negotiated a deal.
I just checked and the book has been published; my photograph is in it. Hooray!
It's on page 222, in a section about "Urbanisation", if you care to walk into a book store and take a look :-)
I know the photo is no work of art, but the lesson is to present every image to its best effect by making sure that it is sharp, the horizon is straight and that tone and contrast suit the subject.

Jacaranda
Grey skies and light rain have saturated the colours of the grass and the flowers on the jacaranda trees - soon the grass will have a jacaranda blue carpet. Once the jacarandas bloom, exam time is close!

History
This photo was taken in 1986 from a cruise boat on the Rhine. I saw an advertisement for European cruises on television recently, and it still looks the same! I suppose I shouldn't be surprised - it probably hasn't changed in centuries.

And - a new look for the blog - it is spring, after all!

Around town 15
Where else would you have Queensland Country Credit Union than in Koala House? There are a couple of large ones on the roof, but anyone entering this building looking for live koalas will be disappointed!
