Daily Telegraph building, Napier NZ

daily_telegraph by tff

This building, like others in Napier, was constructed after their horrific earthquake of 1931. The whole town was destroyed and had to be rebuilt. Napier is now an Art Deco showpiece.

Let's hope that Christchurch can recover and prosper too.

EDIT: This was written before the terrible quake occurred in Japan. At the highest Richter level ever recorded, and with the potential involvement of nuclear reactors, it is a very serious situation. My thoughts are with that country as they focus on rescue and recovery.
